Canada Condemns Attacks in Southern Sudan and Northern Uganda
November 7, 2005 - Foreign Affairs Minister Pierre Pettigrew and International Cooperation Minister Aileen Carroll today condemned the recent killings of humanitarian aid workers in separate attacks in southern Sudan and northern Uganda.

U.S. Needs to Give a Sign of Good faith in Softwood Lumber Dispute
Oct. 27 - During the visit by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to Canada earlier this week, the Secretary repeatedly stated that Canada needs to return to the negotiating table to resolve the softwood lumber dispute. The BC Lumber Trade Council fully supports the position of the Government of Canada that we will only return to the table once the U.S. gives Canada a sign of good faith.

RCMP Charges Foreign National With War Crimes
Ottawa - October 19, 2005 — On Wednesday the RCMP arrested a 39-year-old male from Rwanda, currently residing in Toronto, for allegedly committing crimes against humanity and war crimes in Butare, Rwanda during the events which took place in that country in 1994.
