Halifax Selected To Host 2006 JUNO Awards

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences announced today that Halifax Nova Scotia has been chosen as the host city for the 2006 Juno Awards which will also mark the 35th anniversary of the event.

Mayor Peter Kelly who is delighted with the news said, "We are exceptionally proud to host the JUNO Awards and our community will rise to the occasion as we always do to make the 2006 show the best ever."

Established in 1970 the Junos is an annual event which honours talent within the Canadian recording arts and music industry.

This year's awards show will be broadcast from Winnipeg on April 3rd.
