In the seemingly never-ending story of Terri Schiavo, reports out of Florida state that Governor Jeb Bush has announced that his request for a prosecutor to officially investigate why Terri Schiavo collapsed in 1990, is underway.

Although Bush maintained that this new investigation was not meant to suggest any wrongdoing by Michael Schiavo, he went on to say that there was a significant period of time between the moment she was discovered by her husband and the time that he called for medical assistance.

The Florida governor who fought alongside Terri Schiavo's parents in several attempts to keep her feeding tube in place last March, sent a fax to State Attorney Bernie McCabe outlining the apparent discrepancies between Michael's 1992 medical malpractice testimony and a 2003 television interview concerning the times he said he found his wife.

Bush contends that at least 40 and as much as 70 minutes elapsed before Michael called for medical assistance and added, “In light of this new information, I urge you to take a fresh look at this case without any preconceptions as to the outcome.”

Although the State Attorney has not commented publically, Bush has said that he is in agreement and will investigate.

Terri Schiavo who had been in a persistant vegetative state (pvs) for 15 years, died in March after several court battles and legal motions were heard between Michael who wished that his wife be allowed to die with dignity and Terri's family who believed she could be rehabilitated. The case quickly evolved into an international media frenzy and the emergence of two distinct sides - right-to-life and right-to-die.

Autopsy results released earlier this week prove Ms. Schiavo was in a deep and persistent vegetative state and results also revealed that she was blind. There was no evidence of strangulation or abuse before she died.

Terri's brother Bobby said earlier this week that the autopsy raised more questions and he welcomes a new legal investigation.
