Prince Harry's choice of party costume attire has offended Germans to the point that politicians in that country are calling for a continental-wide ban on swastikas adding to an existing law which prohibits the display of the Nazi insignia within Germany's borders.

Germany currently has strict anti-fascist laws in place which not only ban swastika displays but also prohibits use of the ‘Heil Hitler’ salute. Hitler's book Mein Kampf was banned several years ago.

Markus Soeder, the general secretary of Germany’s Christian Socialist Union Party stated, "In a Europe grounded in peace and freedom there should be no place for Nazi symbols. They should be banned throughout Europe." He went on to say, "After this incident with Prince Harry, the government should encourage our European friends in London to lay more weight on Germany’s development beyond the Nazi period in history lessons."

International indignation has been gaining daily momentum since pictures were released showing Prince Harry wearing a uniform with the swastika symbol prominently displayed on the sleeve of his left arm. The Prince was attending a party thrown by former British Olympic showjumper Richard Meade at Meade's farm in Wiltshire.

The costume party theme was touted as "Colonials and Natives" prompting several of the guests to blacken their faces as part of their masquerade. Several of the Princes' friends have vowed to find the person responsible for selling the controversial pictures to the press.
