 As the rest of the world learns of the tragic death of Steve Irwin, tributes are pouring in from throughout Australia expressing grief, disbelief and sadness for the sudden loss of the extremely well-loved Australian icon dubbed The Crocodile Hunter.
While filming for a Discovery Kids show developed for his daughter, 44 year-old Irwin who was snorkling with a camerman in shallow waters in northern Queensland was stung by a stingray. Reports indicate that Irwin was positioned directly above the ray when it stabbed the croc hunter in the chest. The attack was unprovoked. Paramedics had to be flown to the site of the accident but were unable to revive the much loved naturalist.

The National Council of Welfare has released their annual report, 'Welfare Incomes 2005' which paints a dismal picture, and one that is getting worse. 'Welfare Incomes 2005' estimates total welfare incomes for four types of households in each province and territory, for a total of 52 scenarios. The four household types we use are a single employable person, a single person with a disability, a lone-parent with a 2-year-old child, and a two-parent family with two children aged 10 and 15.

 Cpl. David Braun from CFB Shilo with the 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Kapyong Barracks, was killed as the result of a suicide bombing incident in Kandahar city. Three other soldiers were injured but their injuries have been reported as non-life threatening. Also killed in the bombing was a young Afghan girl. Braun's death is the 27th since Canada deployed troops to Afghanistan in 2002.

He opens his show with "Krystal Nation Awaken" and judging by his performance Tuesday, with Premier Rodney MacDonald, it would have been a better idea to go back to sleep. If you didn't already hear about Andrew Krystal's interview with Premier Rodney MacDonald, you should be aware that the entire fiasco was like a paid political announcement. Maybe it was....
Krystal came off as a hired hand suffering from impotence.

Halifax 2014 CEO Scott Logan said today that community support for the Commonwealth Games bid set for November, 2007 is steadily increasing. Said Logan, "We've been contacted by numerous business owners who see the tremendous potential of the Games, and are interested in helping the bid."

News 95.7 FM Radio talk show host Andrew Krystal earlier this morning had as his on air guest Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald who spoke on a number of issues while continuing to maintain his stance regarding his and his family's private life. Halfway through the scheduled 40 minute intervew Krystal touched on certain criticisms directed toward the premier's refusal to publically address the recent breakup of his marriage with wife, Lori-Ann.
