Lawrencetown's Best Kept Secret - Conrad's Beach Print E-mail
Written by D.L. McCracken
Tuesday, 15 August 2006
Conrad's Beach Boardwalk/photo by D.L. McCrackenIn the province of Nova Scotia there are two Lawrencetowns. One community is situated in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and the other can be found outside Cole Harbour by travelling toward the eastern shore. The main thoroughfare in Lawrencetown also goes by two different names - Lawrencetown Road and Highway 207. Confusing? Not for those of us who live here but for everyone else, whenever I speak of Lawrencetown to a "townie" I make sure they know I'm talking about "Lawrencetown Beach, not Valley".

Radio, Fish And Chips And Rodney Print E-mail
Written by Alex J. Walling
Monday, 14 August 2006
Alex J. WallingWhat an interesting month. After many years of not doing one, I got a chance to host an open line show filling in for a month for Rick ‘Hotline’ Howe on 92/CJCH.  While I did a TV talk show for Eastlink TV a few years back (The Newsmakers with Alex J.) there is something special and unique about ‘live radio’ and never knowing who is one the other end of the line.

Bush, Harper and Blair - Stand Still While I Smuck You Upside The Head! Print E-mail
Written by D.L. McCracken
Wednesday, 09 August 2006
I have a question for U.S. President George W. Bush, his shi-tzu British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and his new best friend Canadian Prime Minister Stephen "The Shrub" Harper - WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? Do you not see what is going on in the middle east at the moment? I swear, if I was related to any one of you I'd have smucked you upside the head a long time ago for your stance on the annihilation of the Lebanese people by the Israeli military . Then I would have disowned you. After that I would have campaigned vigorously against you in the next federal elections.
