By Alex J.Walling Sorry, Mr. Premier but your failure to talk or to avoid the Ernie Fage fiasco is going to cost you what you want, a majority and maybe the election. Mr. Premier, the public pays your salary and that of Mr. Fage and has the right to know what happened? Your refusal to deal or even acknowledge the question shows contempt to the public. That Fage issue, for me, was the most poignant part of the TV leader’s debate the other night. And I wish Francis MacKenzie hadn’t butt in when NDP leader Darrell Dexter had the premier on the ropes. That could have been the knockout point everyone was looking for. |

Two groups advocating for the elimination of VLTs in Nova Scotia today pressed provincial political leaders for leadership on the issue. The groups criticized the political parties for emphasizing family in their campaigns while neglecting the fact that government-operated VLTs are destroying families from one end of the province to the other.

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation from both the sun and artificial sources, including sun lamps and tanning beds, increases the risk of skin cancer. For this reason, officials with Sun Safe Nova Scotia are working with government to restrict the use of tanning beds to individuals over the age of 18.

In response to escalating violence in Iraq's Anbar province, the United States has ordered the activation of 3,500 U.S. reserve troops currently based in Kuwait. It is hoped that the new deployment will be successful in re-gaining control from the increasingly powerful insurgency in the area.
