Liberal Leader Francis MacKenzie would like to ask the premier why there was no open competition for the position of what amounts to as a provincial diplomat in Ottawa. Long-time Tory Ian Thompson has been chosen to represent the province in the nation's capital at Nova Scotia's "office" at a salary of $130,000 per year.

Nova Scotia Liberal Leader Francis MacKenzie is shocked by the Health Minister Angus MacIsaacs' refusal to meet with a taxpayer who has a legitimate issue.
Dave White of Halifax has been caring for his bed-ridden daughter since she was in a serious car accident in 2001. She was hospitalized for 11 months. Upon leaving, Mr. White was given no information about home-care or physiotherapy follow-up.
