Rogers New Brunswick Dumps Andrew Krystal Print E-mail

Andrew Krystal has been removed from the talk radio airwaves in New Brunswick. Krystal remains on the air in Hlaifax, with a new, Halifax focused talk radio show. Rumours circulating that Rick Howe will be picked up by Rogers.

The move comes less than a week after the demise of AM 92/CJCH and the Hotline talk back show, with host Rick Howe.

Rogers appears to be making a strong play for the Howe's former Halifax based audience.

The rumour mill is churning with buzz that Rick Howe will be picked up by Rogers for the afternoon time slot now occupied by verteran broadcaster Tom Young. Under the new arrangement, Tom Young would continue to broadcast in the New Brusnwicck market, with Rick Howe featured in the Halifax market.

UPDATE:

Kryatal was back on-the-air in New Brunswick about a week after the initial report.

Insiders tell Halifax Live that Roger's was running an 'Experiment.' Whatever that means...

In the meantime, Rick Howe has been hired by Rogers' Halifax radio station, News 95.7, as a reporter, news editor, etc. for the 'Afternoon News.'

We still hear rumblings that Howe will host a talkshow in the future.
