Harper set to appoint new director of communications Print E-mail
Written by Staff
Thursday, 01 April 2010
Halifax Live has learned exclusively that former N.S. premier Rodney MacDonald will be appointed director of communications to Prime Minister Stephen Harper sometime within the next two weeks.

A source close to the MacDonald family tells HL on the condition of anonymity that the former premier and professional fiddler was contacted by the PMO two weeks ago concerning a 'potential opening'.

Calls to the family home in Mabou went unanswered Wednesday evening.

Rumoured to be on the Prime Minister's shortlist for a senate appointment in 2009, MacDonald has maintained high-level contacts in Ottawa since his minority government was defeated by the NDP last year.
