Four more senior Cabinet Ministers have thrown their support behind Neil LeBlanc in his bid to become the next leader of the Progressive Conservative Party. Finance Minister Peter Christie, Environment and Labour Minister Kerry Morash, Minister responsible for Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations Barry Barnett, and Natural Resources Minister Richard Hurlburt joined their colleagues Justice Minister Michael Baker, Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission Carolyn Boliver-Getson, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Chris D'Entremont, along with MLAs Jim DeWolfe, Bill Langille and Bill Dooks in support of Neil LeBlanc.
"I've sat with him in caucus. I know he is a listener, he's fair-minded, he's smart and is totally committed to our province. I've given this a lot of serious consideration and I know that he has the best combination of talent, ideas and abilities to lead our province into the future," stated Minister Morash.
Minister Barry Barnett agreed with Morash's opinion of LeBlanc, "Neil knows the province very well. He has incredible experience on a business level, a provincial level and a municipal level - and I'd feel very comfortable having Neil lead our party and province forward to greater prosperity." Finance Minister Peter Christie, said, "I know how difficult the job of Finance Minister is. Neil proved his abilities by working with the Premier, his Cabinet and caucus colleagues to eliminate a $500 million deficit, while at the same time making significant new investments in health care, education and roads. His track record as a leader can be seen in balanced budgets, improved credit ratings and a growing economy. That's the kind of vision and leadership Nova Scotia needs and that I am proud to support."
"Nova Scotia is a very unique province, with unique opportunities and challenges. Our Leader needs to understand and relate to these issues across our province - I know that leader is Neil LeBlanc," concluded Minister Richard Hurlburt. |
