StealthWelcome to the near future when the United States military introduces a computer controlled Stealth aircraft to an exisiting group of ace Top Guns played by Biel, Foxx and Lucas.

The latest in technological warfare, the experimental deep combat aircraft (EDI) is completely controlled by an onboard artificial intelligence and communicates using a voice instantly reminiscent of the computer voice of HAL in the movie 2001, A Space Odyssey as in, "Sorry Dave, I can't do that".

The trailers in this movie have us believe that the story revolves around a rogue Stealth computer-controlled aircraft but in fact, only several minutes of the film focused on that particular aspect.

Stealth begins with spectacular air maneuvers and downright cool aircraft acrobatics. I'm thinking this is going to be a fantastic action-packed flick! But the promise of a rogue Stealth with a sudden mind of its own is misleading and although the movie is filled with action, good old "Eddie" developes a conscience and the story quickly disintegrates into a high-tech love story between the characters played by Biel and Lucas. All that's missing was the deep throat kiss on the battlefield. But they came very close amidst all the blowing up around them. And miraculously, the two of them emerged with one minor facial cut each.

This movie had so much potential. It was a let-down halfway through when it became apparent that "Eddie" was turning out to be more like the lovable robot in 'Lost In Space' then the evil HAL in '2001'.

Is it possible for Hollywood to consider creating a movie without the mushy love-story angle? If they're trying to attract women as part of their profitable target audience, this woman has a message for them - you had me at the aircraft carrier.

Starring: Jessica Biel, Jamie Foxx, Josh Lucas

Running time: 121 minutes

Rating: 14A (but really should have only been a PG)
