Wal-Mart Canada today released the company's eighth annual "top 10" list of the most popular toys in Canada. For the eighth year in a row the retailer has polled its toy buyers and stores nationwide to compile the annual "Wal-Mart" list of toys that Canadians are buying most for the holiday shopping season of 2005.

"In the past five years, the toy industry has really seen a shift toward high-tech toys," said Don Cameron, Wal-Mart's divisional merchandise manager for toys. "This is especially true of the tween/teen market that is looking for youthful versions of adult conveniences. Even young children are turning their focus toward toys featuring electronic components.
