HRM Competing in Winter Lights Competition Print E-mail

Judges for the annual "Winter Lights" celebration are in Halifax Regional Municipality until late Tuesday, to see how the community is lit up for the holiday season.

"A Celebration of Light and Life" is the program's slogan, and its goal is to provide a winter focus for the established national Communities in Bloom competition. It promotes citizen action and involvement in expressing the community spirit of Canada's neighbourhoods, public spaces and streets, through light shows, cultural events and spiritual linkages with light.

The awards ceremony and symposium for this year's competition will be held in Fort St. John, British Columbia, from February 9-11, 2006, during the High on Ice Winter Carnival.
