Nova Scotia Power Issues Warning About Distributed LED Holiday Lights Print E-mail

Nova Scotia Power is asking people to immediately disconnect and stop using outdoor LED holiday lights distributed at five municipal tree lighting ceremonies, the IWK tree lighting ceremony and through Feed Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia Power has become aware of an apparent electrical problem with outdoor LED holiday lights CSA File # 228296 Model COD-TL-35 07/2005. Nova Scotia Power has notified the Canadian Standards Association. The Canadian Standards Association is now investigating the issue.

Customers of Nova Scotia Power who received outdoor multicoloured LED holiday lights distributed by Nova Scotia Power during municipal tree lighting ceremonies in:

  • Amherst
  • New Glasgow
  • Bridgewater
  • Wolfville
  • HRM’s Grand Parade
  • The IWK Tree Lighting ceremony

Customers should contact Nova Scotia Power using this toll-free line, 1-888-370-3444. Nova Scotia Power will arrange to take the lights back and provide customers with exchange options. People who received lights at their local food bank may also call 457-1900.
