A week after family and friends bid their final farewells to Paula Gallant, a much loved and respected teacher from Timberlea, NS, RCMP officials today have released the news that Ms. Gallant's death is the result of a homicide.
A full police investigation has been ongoing since Gallant's body was discovered in the trunk of her car on December 28 after her family had reported her missing. An official murder investigation has begun after the medical examiner released to police the results of specialized tests. Officials have not yet specified what tests were conducted nor the cause of death.

One day after the discovery of Gallant's body RCMP stated that there was no indication of a struggle, no weapons were found nor was there any evidence of a robbery.

Police are requesting the public's assistance and ask anyone with information surrounding Ms. Gallant's murder to contact the RCMP or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
