Wali Wonders Why Beer Companies Do Not Provide Nutritional Information Print E-mail

If Ray Wali of MangoMoose Media gets his way, Canadians will soon be able to see exactly how many calories and carbs are included in their favourite bottle of beer.

Wali, the managing director of the alternative advertising company based in Mississagua, Ontario is making it his mission to convince Health Canada and Canadian beer companies that it's good business to add nutritional information to all beer products. Wali wonders why there is nutritional information on his box of tea but not on cases of beer adding, "It is ridiculous that alcoholic beverages are exempt from listing their nutritional values while my tea bags must have it."

Citing the increasing health costs associated with alcohol-related illnesses, Wali firmly believes that part of the problem lies with the uninformed imbiber. "Consumers are guessing. We have no clue how much protein or carbs are in the beer we drink. This is going to have to change and quickly."

Wali whose first advertising blitz involved distributing toilet paper imprinted with ads promoting MangoMooseMedia, is launching his company's latest guerrilla marketing campaign that will include public relations, word-of-mouth and online publicity all aimed toward Health Canada and Canadian beer companies in an all-out effort to convince them that placing nutritional info on beer products is simply the right thing to do.

"We feel it will be accomplished because companies realize what's good for their consumers is good for their business," says Wali.

Wali encourages all those interested in supporting his initiative to visit www.beerinfo.ca and sign the petition.

MangoMoose Media is a leading provider of alternative advertising who will not hesitate to place ads on everything from pizza boxes to human beings. And no doubt this reporter has fallen victim to one of their advertising tactics by writing this story in the first place. Brilliantly sneaky method of mischievous  manipulation.
