Governor General to Deliver Keynote Address at Canadian Press Dinner in Halifax Print E-mail

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 25 and 26, 2006. The Governor General will be the keynote speaker at the annual dinner of The Canadian Press at Pier 21 on Thursday, May 25 beginning at 7:30 PM. She will discuss the civic responsibility of journalists and the issues facing the media in today's modern world.

On Friday, May 26, the Governor General As Commander-in-Chief of the Canadian Forces, will tour the submarine, HMCS Windsor, Maritime Command Atlantic, HMC Dockyard, Jetty NC.

Later on Friday morning the Governor General will visit the new Operational Trauma and Stress Support Centre at the Canadian Forces Hospital where she will meet with families, clinical support services staff and tour the new state-of-the-art facility.
