The family of 28 year-old Petty Officer 1st Class Damon Crooks who was murdered outside a bar in downtown Halifax early Sunday morning have established a condolence guest book for those who would like to leave their thoughts and sympathies for Petty Officer Crooks' family and friends.
The Florida native is being described as a "good samaritan" after it was discovered by local police that he died while attempting to break up a large fight in which he had no involvement.
Crooks was in Halifax as part of a joint Canadian/American navy exercises. He served on the USS Doyle. Nova Scotians are encouraged to visit Crook's book of condolence and leave their thoughts and sympathies. Crooks is survived by his parents, Beatrice and Austin, sister Erin and brother Corwin. The young sailor and his girlfriend were expecting the birth of their second child, a baby girl in December. The condolence guest book can be accessed here: palmbeachpost.com/pbcnorth/content/local_news/epaper/2006/11/06/s1b_sailor_1106.html |
