Muggles everywhere who have been waiting impatiently for a release date on the final episode of the Harry Potter book series were informed on Thursday, February 1 that their wait will be over as of 12:01 AM (across all Canadian time zones) on July 1, 2007.

'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows' is the seventh installment and the last book of the tremendously successful series by J.K. Rowling. There will be a children's edition as well as an adult edition. Both will be hardcover and retail for $45.00 CDN.

The first book of the series, 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' debuted in 1997 and became an instant hit with children and adults worldwide. The series has sold 325 million copies throughout the world and has been translated into 64 languages according to the book's Canadian publisher, Vancouver-based Raincoast Books.

Author J.K. Rowling has stated that 'Deathly Hallows' will mark the end of the Harry Potter series, a fact that will no doubt sadden millions of dedicated fans. She has suggested that an encyclopedia of all things Wizard may be in the offing.
