So, here's the scoop on David Rodenhiser and his radio gig. David is very happy at the Daily News writing columns. That's a relief. Rodenhiser is at the top of his game with pen in hand. David tells me that he loves writing columns, and says he has one of the best jobs in metro's media. But what about the 'Rat's' radio career?
David sits in every Friday with B.J., Lisa and Bobby Mac on Q104 from about 7:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. He says that's his only regular radio appointment. He also appears with Andrew Krystal on 95.7 and Rick Howe at 92 CJCH, when invited and when it fits into his day job's schedule. (He's not paid to appear)
David has no plans to leave the Daily News. As far as plotting to take over Krystal's job, Rodenhiser makes it clear that he's not plotting a Coup d'état. He says Krystal, as well as Rick Howe and all his friends at Q104 have been very kind to him.
As for filling in for Bill Carr during the summer on Saturday mornings? An offer was made but Rodenhiser likes to spend Saturday's with his lovely wife. Can't blame him for that.
