Pope Benedict XVI has decided to replace Ottawa's retiring archbishop Marcel Gervais with Terrence Prendergast, archbishop of Halifax. Most Rev. Prendergast said in a press statement Monday: "The Holy Father has called me to serve the church as archbishop of Ottawa. With mixed emotions I accept this new call ... my sorrow is that I must leave you. Please keep me in your prayers; you will remain in mine."
