Sports Brief

Mark Dacey skipped his rink to an impressive win over British Columbia today in the Nokia men's curling semifinal game to move on to the championship match against Alberta's Randy Ferbey Sunday. Mark Dacey and the Nova Scotia rink poated 7-4 victory over Jay Peachey and his B.C. rink.

Dacey's rink scored three points in the 7th end to give the Nova Scotia rink a four point lead. British Columbia were unable to overcome the deficit as Dacey ran the BC team out of rocks in the 10th to lead Nova Scotia to their second appearance in the championship game in two years.

This year's final will be a repeat of the 2003 Nokia Brier held in Halifax. Dacey will square off against the three time brier championship Ferbey rink from Alberta Sunday evening. The event will be broadcast live on the CBC television network.
