James Bond Film Delayed Until 2006

October 01, 2004

James Bond fans will have to wait until at least 2006 before the next feature film hits theatres. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) originally planned to release the next film of the franchise in November 2005, however, producers are still searching for a new actor to play the secret agent.

Although Pierce Brosnan hasn't been ruled out, several actors are rumoured to be in line to be the next 007, including, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law and Eric Bana.

MGM also says the film will be delayed because it has yet to sign a director for the film.

As recentlly as July, MGM said the script was complete and the film was on track for a November 2005 release.

Bronson, 51, has starred in four Bond movies and is the fifth actor to play the role as agent 007. Other Bond actors include, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.
